Media Coach training
For the second time, the Evens Foundation supported the Belgian MediaCoach program, both in Flanders, French community and Brussels.
The MediaCoach program in Belgium focuses on preparing professionals – including teachers, youth workers and librarians who work with young people – to integrate media literacy into their work practices. The 10-day training provides participants with a theoretical framework on different media literacy topics (media identity and privacy, media production, media and relations, etc). It also focuses on concrete media literacy activities.
Trainees in the program are challenged and coached to develop a media literacy project in their work environment and present that to an external jury for their graduation. In 2015 75 MediaCoaches graduated from the training. More information on: www.media-coach.be/.
